Amadeus Finalizes Deal With Delta and United for NDC Content

Amadeus has finalized a new multi-year distribution deal with two major U.S. carriers.

The new deal includes Delta Air Lines and United Airlines and will encompass a full range of content including NDC-based content, according to Business Travel News Europe.

“Delta is pleased to provide full content, including NDC, to our indirect channels as part of our comprehensive offering,” Jeff Lobl, Delta’s managing director of distribution strategy and agency sales programs, said, according to BTN. “Our renewed partnership with Amadeus including our value‑based commercial structure underscores our dedication to embracing innovative distribution strategies that directly benefit our customers.”

Delta already has deals in place with Amadeus competitors Travelport and Sabre. Both of those deals include NDC content sharing as well.

In Amadeus’ case, the agreement will provide access to Delta’s content through platforms such as the Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Web Services and the Cytric Easy online booking tool, per BTN.

As for United Airlines, the deal with Amadeus includes “enhanced” distribution and access to a “wide range of content” through Amadeus’ booking platforms. That includes both NDC and EDIFACT-based fares.

“Amadeus has been a vital distribution partner in the deployment of NDC, and we are delighted to accelerate that journey,” Kurt Van Meir, managing director of distribution at United, said according to BTN.“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Amadeus as we work together to create an enhanced shopping experience for travellers across every channel.”

Amadeus representatives said the new contracts allow the platform to continue delivering a seamless shopping and booking experience.

“Our approach to delivering airline content combines technology, innovation and traveler-centric solutions to enable travel sellers to offer the right journeys to meet each traveler’s specific needs,” Kamal Singhee, senior vice president, airlines, North America at Amadeus, said.
